Problem: The Hyperion Financial reports developed by another consulting company did not meet the clients requirements
Solution: After discussing the issues with the current set of reports we developed a plan, prioritized tasks and executed the plan. After 1 week all high priority were accepted by the users and after 4 weeks all reports were complete.
Problem: The chart of accounts were permanently changed and 2 new dimensions needed to be added to the Hyperion Planning application.
Solution: The solution required the old chart of accounts to be remapped to a new chart of accounts and also the two new dimensions added based off a mapping table. This was solved using SQL DTS, SQL Server relational database and Hyperion Planning.
Problem: Allied Irish Banks wanted the ability to analysis their data at an aggregated level and then easily drill back into the details
Solution: The solution was to develop an Essbase Integration Services application combined with a star schema relational database. This allowed end users to to drill back to the relational database details from the Essbase Excel Add-In.
Problem: Complex modelling was being performed in Excel. Different plan iterations were cumbersome and slow. Financial Analysis and Reporting were also inflexible.
Solution: The solution was to implement Essbase to perform the heavy calculations and then use SmartView Excel Add-In which allowed users to still leverage the power of Excel. Plan iterations which typical were taking 2 weeks to perform were now taking 2 hours.
Problem: The business had outgrown existing Hyperion Planning application.
Solution: The solution was a complete redesign and redevelopment of the application with the current set of business requirements. Minimum maintenance and maximum flexibility were key drivers in this solution.
Problem: Complex Budgeting and Forecasting processes for a large number of entities and employees.
Solution: The solution significantly simplified the planning process by leverage the power of ODI, Hyperion Planning, Essbase and Financial Reports. It also allowed for maximum flexibility in the model as business requirements evolved over time.
